Ze ligt aan de rivier de Aa en het Wilhelminakanaal. De stad staat bekend om haar sterke industrie, vooral in de voedingssector, zoals Mars Nederland, FrieslandCampina (DMV), Jumbo Supermarkten, Sligro Food Group en Hutten. Ben je geen lid, dan betaal je 30 euro. Dit is inclusief lunch en dansen. Voor een bezoek aan de chocoladefabriek betaal je 25 euro extra.
